    The off-line/on-line advantage

TLCC distance learning tools incorporate both on-line and off-line components to achieve both convenient and highly effective training. After you’ve installed your TLCC course on your local computer, you can take the course, work the exercises, and learn off-line at your own pace – any time, anywhere.

While you are improving your skills off-line, you can get help from our instructors on-lineusing the Discussions database for each course you are enrolled in. All students are encouraged to take advantage of this helpful and informative collaborative feature.

    Course Discussions

Go to “Discussions” for answers to questions about your course work. You can see what other studentsask and the instructor’s reply or mark your query private and only the instructor will view it. The content of previous discussions is also available for review.

There are two ways to use the Discussions” forum:

    1. Set up Notes replication* – If you have purchased a Domino/Notes developer course then TLCC suggests setting up replication to communicate your questions to TLCC and to receive a response from one of our instructors – as well as to see responses to questions from other students.

Notes replication ensures that your Lotus Notes and Domino training course is always current. Any changes TLCC makes to the course content will replicate to your copy of the course. Instructors will add entries to the "Discussions" to inform you of any course additions or updates. You can also re-install the course at any time to get the latest materials from TLCC during the time period that you have course access.

    2. Use a web browser TLCC courses also allow you to use a web browser to participate in the course discussions. While viewing a lesson, you can click a button to create a question or view the “Discussions” using your web browser. This method is ideal when Notes replication cannot be used due to connectivity issues and is the only access method for WebSphere courses.
